Alrite lads n lasses

im due to re-tile around my bath on friday and was wondering what was the best way to tackle it? the only thing im tiling is this boxing around the bath. i think it was originally put there to create a better seal as the bath doesnt run flush wit hthe wall its out by about 15-20mm at one end but the tiles have started to lift. Just using ceramic tiles. Would it be ok to rip the old stuff out create the boxing again using say 18mm thick ply to cover the gap, primer and then use asuitable addy? Is there anything else i need to use. i will be using flexi grout aswell. what addy would you recommend? would tubbed stuff be ok? Hope you all understand this. if you need anymore info on the situation then let me know and i will try and explain it abit better!!!

Cheers for looking

If you are going to re-do the boxing out, you might want to consider using a backer board of some sort. Much more stable in damp conditions than ply though Idon't think you can get it that thick. You could always double it up I suppose. Try aquapanel (wickes). You could then use White Star and BAL Microflex grout.

Cheers Grumps. Is the aquapanel much more expensive than ply or not? Also what is the maximum thickness of the boards in question?

Hi,
There are 2 sizes available 6mm and 12mm normaly and and i think they are 1500 x 90 and run out round £18 a sheet.
