Simon.

Hello, it may sound a bit of a daft question but when you have to snap a ceramic tile across hole centres to fix it over pipes do you have to glue it together as it is fixed on the wall? If so I'm thinking superglue as anything else will be too thick and open the cut. I'm asking as someone at work has got wind of me wanting to take up tiling and wants me to finish their bathroom. The tiling I'm going to do is a continuation of the tiling around the bath so I can't set the tiles so the pipes are at the edge of a tile. As luck would have it two water pipes exit the wall nearly bang in centre of a 20 x 30cm. tile in full view. Thanks a lot!

can be a big mistake finishing off someone else's work i.e how do you know they have set out properly, you could be left with crap cuts at sinks, baths windows etc,so a bit of advice THINK TWICE.
I dont mean to sound harsh but get yourself some training before taking on projects like this, you have been warned.

I have done wall tiling in the past but I know what you mean. After following on from the bath/shower area across the sink and loo there is a one and a half inch gap between the last tile and adjoining wall which would look really crap if it was tiled especially as this is the first area you see as you walk into the bathroom. As this wall will only be tiled not much higher than the sink and not all the way to the ceiling I've suggested leaving out one or two vertical rows of tiles at the end where the gap would be and paint the wall the same as above the tiling and the adjoining wall.
