Tiling around window

Morning chaps,

Finally started tiling the bathroom yesterday (brazilian black slate) so far it's gone to plan but I'm getting to a small window and need some advice would you use a edging trim
round the window or not ? If not how would you tile it?

Personally , I would not use trim with any natural stone. I would either mitre or butt join!

Agree with charlie1, never used trim, plastic or metal, with natural stone. Slate is too uneven, there are bound to be lips due to the uneven surface. As already mentioned butt them up or mitre if you've got a good wet saw that will cut at a 45 degree angle

Or bull nose the finished edge..

butt joint is the easier if your not sure or as dave says bullnose looks great if you have the tools and skill!

So IM always up to learn something new, even if I never have to use it! How do you go about this? I'm imagining a special cutter on a router! Close?

Cheers for the advice guys I had bought the trim but will take it back any tips would be much appreciated

Do I tile the window reveals first?

Tile around the window first, then you can line up the tiles in the reveal with the field tile
