Hello,
I am new to this forum but just wanted general advice on an opportunity I've been given. I am about to finish my course at college and unsure at what to do next, I have been offered to move to Denmark to do tiling. Now, my current options are to learn tiling or to go to university, I am edging towards going over to do tiling. Can anyone give me any advice on whether this is an opportunity not be missed?
Thanks,
JB12

Sorry JB but i agree with all the others...this is a typical weekend, note weekend!
Phone calls at 7.00 am friday morning, phone calls at 9.30 Friday night. Then i have to cancel another weekend and saturday night out, and then last night driving three hours to a 'job that HAS to be done and is ready'.
Get up at 6 this morning (SUNDAY), being moaned at the minute i arrive by security, only to find out the job wasn't ready and having to drive all the way back...:mad2::thumbsdown:

Go to Uni mate.
Work for someone else, let them have the stress, let them find and pay your Tax, and let them provide you with a pension.

Sorry but tiling is really not as romantic it appears.

But then every body saying that, a lot of my friends went to uni and have just come out and most have either no job or are stuck in crappy dead end jobs were as i am now self employed at 21 and really loving working and earning more than all of them so its swings and round abouts, some people make it others dont! Look how many people come out of uni and cant get a job doing what they want?

In all seriousness it's a tough one.
It is becoming harder at the moment for guys to get the prices they need and deserve for the work they do, each month is a battle to pay all the bills, outgoings, tools, and then put what you need side away for tax. Some guys are doing well, i can honestly say i've not lost aday because of the recession, but the money still keeps evaporating.
But then it does appear that you don't have a goal in your University studies. If there was a course you felt you have to do then go for it. If there really isn't any course that suits what you want then why go and end up with a degree you've no passion for and a £20-30,000 student loan.
It really is a a tough one for youngsters out there, but in the defense of going to Denmark......
Have you seen the girls!!!!!!
