Just spent 6 days sorting out a bathroom done by a DIYer. He'd boarded all the walls floor-to-ceiling in chipboard...over the original tiles - first time I'd seen that done!! All top layer tiles were dot n dabbed... tiles were warping away from the wall by as much as an inch in places....I put my hard hat on when ripping the top layer off as half the wall was coming off in one go... seriously uncomfortable couple of hours as the bath had to stay put! The moral of this story.... don't tile on to chipboard!!!:yikes:
