Tiling kitchen

Hi, is it the tillers job to seal the kitchen i.e Silicon between the worktop and the tiles after tiling and grouting is complete?

Normaly yes. If the plumber still has work in the bathroom it is sometimes better for him to finish that. IMO

Thanks and when you take a socket off to tile behind, putting back with longer screws. Am I correct in saying you don't have to seal around the socket?

Only to be sealed when the grout is fully dried out so that is debatable imo

some tilers do some tilers don't, I do and it is included in my quotation...
are you having problems with a tiler doing the Silicon ?

I wouldn't Silicon a kitchen unless I was going back to do something else the next day ,couldn't justify it in the price.

It's about what you see and you see the Silicon! That's why I do it then I can happily put my name to it.

I always try to add the finishing touch with the Silicon myself so i can keep the work to my standard (IMO a poor effort at sealing can ruin an entire job).

Although as others have said that can sometimes mean having to drive a long way back the next day just to do this minor job and that isn't always an option, so if there is a plumber i trust on site then i will ask them to do it for me.
