Tiling Machine (seriously)

Hi, this probably sounds like a stupid question but has there ever been a machine invented or a system of tiling other than trowelling which makes it easier, quicker or with low skilled labour?

Well there has been a machine lately that does spread adhesive.. not my cuppa tea but might be what you are thinking of..

I's say you would need a fair meterage to make it pay though.

only for the BIG floors it maybe worth getting. Better of with an extra wide trowel, and a skivvy!

Nothing better than a trowel and a flat floor or wall..........except you rarely get a flat wall or floor.

I can't imagine any machine being as accurate and as fast as a man and a trowel.....

the only tiling machine you need is a labourer, a refina 1800w mega mega mixer and a 16 inch trowel ;0)

Since the Borg captured me back in 67 I have been a Cybernetic tiling machine ( I think I have seen to many Star Trek movies) seriously though I would not mind some replacment parts, eg. neck, back, knees, knuckles etc:lol:

If they invent a machine that can tile, I will be the first person to buy one:mad2:

Lol phil nice thought, i think the good old trowel job is the only way at the moment until some mad inventor comes up with something on dragons den!

i personally dont think a tiling machine can be invented.
you are dealing with the application of adhesive and fixing of tiles.
2 different techniques!! manipulation and varying technique required to ensure a correct bond and finish. how do you get a machine to do that? answer is, you cant... how do i know, because if you could, it would be done by now and many of the lads on here would have one ;0)

life's getting too full of gimmicks and that tiling m/c is another one. trowel and bucket is the way for now.
