Tiling on board

2 questions re tiling on ply if you don't mind.

Which is best - Bal Single part Fastflex or Bal Rapidset Flexible? The local Topps stated they were as good as each other.

Bal state a solid bed of adhesive should be used so no void spaces appear under the tiles. Do any tilers actually do this?

Try to get a full bed under the tile for floors....

I definitely give it my best when it comes to floors to have solid bed!
Nothing worse than the thought of going back cos a corners cracked cos I've been lazy!
if memory serves, fastflex used to be two part and is more flexible, I think!

the old fast flex used to be a 2 part mix, the new single part fast flex is the same but you now just mix it with water...

Certainly felt like it after another day on my knees! And that was just for the wife!

Single part Fastflex is my first choice but I'm wondering if AD1 added to rapid set would improve performance in the same way that GT1 is added to grout.

Personally if you need max flexibility, I'd go with your choice of Fastflex. That pretty much sticks anything to anything, including metal.
But to be sure call Bal Tech tel 01782591120 they're always friendly and helpful.
You seem unduly worried bout this job, any particular reason?

Thanks, i did actually call Bal before jumping back on here. they did advise fastflex and the grout they recommended was micromax2. Not too worried really, it's just that I removed the original tiles a few days ago and want to the get the best adhesive ordered quick.

No worries, it's quite often a stock item, so that should be kool. *whispers gently,* even my local Topps stock it! Haha
ONE thing, please don't think it's egg sucking time!, if u've not used the micromax2 before, take it gently with quantities mixed. It's RAPID SETTING.

I would go for bal wide joint grout with gt1 admix as apposed to micro max
