tiling on to steel ?

hi boys and girls been to price a job this afternoon in a prefab house i think these house's were built after the war when housing was short (could be wrong) anyway my problem is that these house's are made of steel inside and out ! lady wants her kitchen walls tiling my question is what adhesive do i use ? i was thinking flexable powdered what do you guys think?

yep metal sheeting walls no plasterboards or anything never come across anything like this before !

i have rendered a few houses like this...
if its the same prefabs as i am thinking about, they look like the side of those containers you see at the docks. ridges on the side??

we have to screw exterior ply to them and then cover them in expanding metal lathe, overlapping by 4 inches. they we would scratch coat between the metal lathe, and render the next week...

so on that basis, i would screw backer boards to them and tile on top of that ...

no mate no rust, it was tiled before the loooked like tubbed addy ,lady scrapped it all off , i could backer board the walls but a few problems with sockets,archatrives ect...

mapei's little black book claims
tiling to metal , use keraquick with latex plus BUT it recommends calling their tech dept first!! might be worth calling them??

Ok.. A few options if want to do it..

Fastflex ... check with technical
Mapei keraquick with latex plus... but check with mapei for type of steel.

A slurry coat and an S2 single part adhesive...but a 2 part would be the best option.

i think i better call the tech boys generally use bal ,thanks for the tip on slurry coat never thought of that.

i find fastflex was always the easy way for steel i believe thats what it was developed for steel decks like as in ships thats what i have always used in small areas :lol:
