Tiling onto breeze blocks

Hi all.
New to this so apologies if this has been discussed before but I can't find a thread similar!

I'm looking at tiling a 2.5m x 2.5m breeze block wall at a friend's Home improvement shop. This is to showcase a range of tiles.

Done various tiling work before but never onto breeze blocks.

Question is do I plasterboard it then tile? Or tile straight onto the blocks?

If plasterboard is best. Is best to put wooden battens up then attach plasterboard to this?

Any help appreciated!
