tiling onto chimney breast

hi im tiling a chimney breast soon which has a log burner, this is going to warm the walls quite a bit, do i need a special adhesive or will flexible be ok, and another thing there will be no grout gaps as its those interlocking slates tiles so will thi be a problem? thanks in advance!

Been a while since I was in the palace bopping away lol.

I did one behind a log burner using spf rapid for a friend over a year ago. Still have drinks round there regularly and they are still on the wall (same tiles, from topps?)

I use Weber spf on a few wood burners never had a problem.

I used keraquick and latex plus on any jobs like this, never had any problems

Be careful when over doing it with latex additives and heat.
