Am confused by so much conflicting advice info about what needs to be done first to tile onto moisture resistant plasterboard.
Completely refitting bathroom. Internal partition walls are new moisture resistant plasterboard (being replacements for ruined old stramut strawboard walls)
Can i tile straight onto these, or do I need to apply pva first etc.
Thanks

Thanx dave!

I'm dot-dabbin an old bathroom with green boards all the way. No Pva prior to tiling, and I'll go for your cement-based adhesive, pref not pre-mixt!

Never seen green boards being reccomended to not dot dab. Can you post links whitebeam that don't recommend dot dab on the base coat ?

Hi Jay,

The whole area- shower cubicle, round bath, sink, floor to ceiling everywhere. I hope I can dot and dab them as its tight for space as it is, its an old cottage.

I've been web browsing and can't find anything telling me I can or can't dot dab. I hope I can dot dab as nothing else is really practical. Even if its not recommended, I think I'll risk it and will advise the client.

Checked with British Gypsum and they say it's fine to dot and dab moisture boards, never seen it done before only screwed to studs
