Hi people ive got a kitchen splashback to do in the monster in laws and on inspection the walls are painted plasterboard. What in your opinion is the best way to tackle this ie priming etc thanks in advance

you are only supposed to score the paint not the plasterboard.Dose scoring into the the surface not weaken the plaster bond?
I have always just keyed the surface up with some 40 or 30 grade aluminum oxide break down the paint and key the surface up, Dust off then prime and then tile.
