No you dont need to prime unless there are bare edges to the boards.

if by bond you mean prime the walls then I personally always do because I find the plaster board drys the adhesive to quickly

cheers gents, yeah sorry i meant prime. dont think it matters by the sounds of it however im going to do it anyway as i dont want my adhesive going off way to quick albeit rapid anyway

I always prime new boards. Stops the board sucking the moisture out of the adhesive.

what do you do with green MR boards?

You won't have the suction with green boards but if you have any bare gypsum prime that....
