just done a floor today and had a nightmare under the washer.b4 laying any tiles i checked the clearance between top of washer and worktop, about 25mm,no probs.layed floor working towards the washer corner.when i went 2 replace the washer it wouldn't fit .took it out and found the floor rose up towards the back by 10mm.then had 2 remove the tiles under the washer and just lip them under the front of it.what do u lads normally do ,iv'e never had this problem b4:huh2:

Did the washer not have adjustable feet on it? Usually you can just wind the feet in or out to get it level / under the unit.

I've, fortunately, not had that problem before.

I've just done a kitchen floor for a friend and their washer wouldn't fit \ adjust enough to be able to tile under it, so I just tiled under the lip of the washer front.

I told them before hand that there was going to be a height issue with the washed and work surface if tiled and ask if they wanted lino instead, but they said no they wanted it tiled, so whenever they need it repairing or replacing the plumbers going to be a happy bunny

I was thinking of digging the floor up in the washer space area enough to lower it enough, but it's a brand new kitchen and they didn't want hammers\chisels going anywhere near their new units

Did a floor recently when I asked the client to ask the kitchen installers to lift the units/worktop by an extra 10mm. He decided against that. I ended up having to overboard with 6mm hardie. Washer fitted in resulting space but freezer didn't!

He is now having to have an extra cupboard fitted to fill in the gap!
