Tiling window recess - advice needed please

I am new here
I have been re-doing my own bathroom for months. I have tiled the walls with large ceramic tiles and am now tiling around the window and into the recess but have hit a problem - HOW TO tile the top of the recess on the inside ie against gravity. The recess is 16cm deep and tiles are 25cm wide so am trying to get 4 tile pieces 16cmx25cm together with grout to stick without falling off. An added problem is that none of my walls are straight and the overhead part of the recess slopes upwards from window frame to wall so trying to fill the space with adhesive is making tiles to heavy and they just fall off again. Is there a special adhesive for this job? Do i need to get a board and prop it up against the tiles to keep them in place while the adhesive dries?

You could use that method but modern adhesives usually stick and stay there these days. What adhesive are you using? A little tip would be to spread wall and tile, this can help slippage.

am using Wickes flexible rapid set tile adhesive that I also used on the floor. I have used 3 large pots of the readymix and run out. I bought another bag of the flexi stuff as one wall is partition and am tiling to ply. Maybe that is where I am going wrong! What do you recommend that is strong and can be purchased in small quantities?

make yourself a t bar out of 4/2 cls supported from the sill to the soffet
that will support the tiles until they set.
