To seal,or not to seal.

Evenin.should you seal 'both' sides of limestone pieces before fixing?i can only think this is to stop water sucking out of adhesive into stone and affecting the tone?havent laid any limestone so any advice would be a help with the sealing and polishing.the sealer and the Matt polish are both fila products.thanks

No need to seal both sides. just the surface. Use a white, powdered adhesive and backbutter the underside of the tile, covering the whole area. This will improve adhesion and will prevent any inconsistencies bleeding through to the surface.

Some white limestones can change colour with adhesive , using the fixing method above makes the colour change even and rapid set must be used.


Fila have brought out a new product for sealing the back of stone thus eliminating any bleed through.
