tool box

any of you recommend a decent tool box. keep on breaking bits of the one i have which is the the third in six months.turns out they are not good for standing on

Stanley's trolley box is what i use for my tiling tools. Carry's loads. And i find my trowels fit neatly in the bottom section, tote tray holds some drill bits, files, blades, scrappers etc. Mines getting full so might have to get a second one and split my tools between them depending on what type of tiles i'm fitting.

B and Q were doing the newer version for £25 i think. I paid £50 for mine a few years back.

cool i had one of those before but i found it too big when working in flats ( usually top floor) was looking at fat max one in b and q think that might be ok not sure but anyone bot one

It all depends on what you want to carry at any one time i guess. It's a bulky tool box, agreed. But it contains everything i need. So it maybe be healvier, but it's only one box to take up rather than 2 or 3 smaller ones. The wheels help. But for £25 you can't go wrong imo.

too true 25 quid is a steal think it might be worth investing in that one and a smaller one for other jobs, also gives me an excuse to buy more tools

I use the Stanley one too, picked a couple of them up for £25 each a couple of years back and they're still going strong

ive got an old woolworths 16" toolbox which keep my scrapers and blades.also use it for standing on ,on a daily basis...they dont make things like they used too hey .....:smilewinkgrin:

B & Q were doing a stanley box that was very good. They have a treaded top with a fold flush handle for use for standing on and large metal clasps. Inside is very simple with a lift out top tray for smaller items. The boxes come in 36 and 24 inches. I got two of the 36 ones so that I can pull apart and but a board on so that I can work up a full wall without moving them. Got them late last year on a deal...thing I paid £60 the pair...and well worth it. Oh...they also have a waterproof seal in the lid so they can be hosed down at the end of the day.

had a wee look on there web site couldnt see them. the fat max one looks decent. checked the price online
b&q are wanting 44quid for it and screw fix are wanting 30 for same one, funny considering they are pretty much the same company

Brewers are doing a 19 inch tote bag for £15.00.Felt quite solid/sturdey.Can properbly get all your basics in there.Bought one similer/stanley/on offer £20.00.
Using it but still have on wheels box for most tools

Nice one! Same here I use a couple of old addy tubs never had any issues ,easy to carry and access tools.

I'm the same as diamond pool finishers, my transit is my toolbox, everything has a place so i know exactly where i can find things rather than digging round in tool boxes, my tools for the day get put in a gorilla tub then put away at the end of the day

I've recently bought 3 of the Dewalt tough system boxes, very robust and can clip together or be loaded onto a trolley. They do a racking system for the van if you fancy spending a few quid.

I've seen one that's sort of stood upright compared to that but the same sort of thing, think that was in Tesco too. Might have been Asda or something. Looked alright.

Yeah proper tough, air and water tight as well.
