Over the years I have had a few good ideas for tools, and some not so good ideas. Some of the good ones that I did nothing about have ended up on the market and someone made a killing on them. One of them was a trowel that I adapted. It was a 8mm by 8mm notch and I cut every other notch in to an 8mm by 14mm. I used it on bad floors to give me an extra bed of adhesive that could be easily squashed if required. Some years later karl dahm came out with something very similar. I’m not saying I was ripped of or anything I’m just kicking my self for doing nothing with it. Do any of you boys and girls have any tools you have invented or innovated.

How about the tile stepping stone with adjustable legs so it will fit any tile size for use in areas that have to be walked across before the adhesive has a chance to dry.

I have had one of these for 20 years, its a 7 foot plank and two smaller pieces to lift it off the tiles.

Deano, why would anyone need a step over with fast setting adhesive?

Apart from a large floor where access to an exit is needed I have never seen something like that in use in 20 years mate.

I’m not trying to sell you one m8
Even fast set takes 2 hours to set.
You wont see them as I am the only one that uses them. I do find them useful on some jobs like hallways where the stairs are half way down and the customer needs to go up stairs for a no2.
I have found them useful on a number of jobs but that’s juts me.

Ok how about my specially adapted mitre block. I was a lecturer at a college in Birmingham and one of the biggest problems for me was getting the students to cut the mitres on the trim. Most of them did a picture frame mitre and it should have been an internal mitre for around the windows. I struggled to explain this in a way they could understand so I came up with this and I must admit I have used it pretty much every day since. I went as fare as getting a prototype made but that is where it stopped as manufacturing costs are ridicules.
