Travertine 915 x 305 on walls pattern

I will be fixing a vein cut 915 x 305 travertine to en-suite shower room walls.

I'm not sure that I want to go with a straight forward brickbond pattern and have been toying with the idea of a random style.

Has anyone tried this on walls or will it look rubbish?

big tile do you have large areas of walls to tile or is it bitty like some bathrooms are?

The wall runs are between 1.7 to 2.2 metres, so not massive Kilty.
Approx 21sqm in total.

I think you may be better with a brick bond. you could be messing around with scraggy ends. If you really want to do a random pattern go for it, a bigger area would have been better IMO.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to big for that small area, imho that is, by that i mean your not going to see the full potential of the tiles, one fullish tile and a cut for brickbond. I sthe tile a definite ?

It'll look good, I've no doubts, but that is why I am thinking about a random pattern, as the brickbond effect will not really be noticeable.

I'll, also, fess up that I'm thinking about 1.5mm grout joints too :yikes:.

Oh well, if you have no room to manoeuvre then as you say, a random effect, 1.5mm joints, what are you fixing to ?

I'm completely re-boarding the walls with wedi or equivalent, so they will be spot on mate .

I did a small en-suite and a bathroom in 900x300 glazed white ceramic and fix tiles running in line and looked good. Just another option

I have just done 3 bathrooms in same length of tile but wider.. and all in random bond..looks great.. as IMO is better than a definite pattern..
