Travertine floor

Hi guys,

Doing a Travertine conservatory floor, client has asked: We note also from looking at the tiles, that they should be sealed prior to
being laid as well as being sealed again once in place. Can anybody explain what sealing before means?

No, some people seal before fixing, some seal after fixing and before grouting and some seal only after grouting.

Don't waste your time sealing before fixing, just work cleanly then seal before and after grouting.

1. Fit them. Spread white adhesive on back of tile instead of floor to fill any voids. 2. Clean them well. 3. Seal 1 even coat and allow to dry. 4. Grout and clean again. 5. Another coat of sealer. Done.

surely you mean spread adhesive on the back of the tile AS WELL as on the floor, and not instead of.
