Travertine not good with underfloor heat mats?

I've just been told by my customer that he's been advised against using electric underfloor heating mats with travertine by a tile shop. They said the heat would degrade the stone. I've not heard this before & have done the job without any problems before.
Anyone have any views on this?

As above, rubbish. This is why tile shop staff need training in correct methods, instead of giving advice like this, or the old (green chipboard on floor? no probs our value tubbed gear will do that):mad2:

Shouldn't be hardly any filler, unless it is commercial grade... then it is unsuitable for floor use with or with out ufh..and this is just down to foot traffic and not the ufh..

sadly its not just tile shops that hand out the wrong information, many a time i've requested information from the sales assistant only to realise they're talking complete twaddle. All they're after is a sale. Makes you appreciate forums like this one.
