travertine wall tiling

ive been given two bathrooms to tile by a friend who said it was ceramics on walls, when i spoke direct to customer the tiles are travertine non sealed.
just after a bit of advice.... its th first time ive been asked to put travertine on the walls so normaly id seal them first as natural stone plus what adhesive do you lads use? i would have normaly used cement based or could you get away with tub?

I use bal single part flexi with travertine....i wouldn't dream of using tub gear....

Hi mate,
personally, I seal once before grouting and again after-never seen why people do it before tiling as it's a waste of time.
Nearly all flexible adhesives will be fine but other stuff wont last.
Wet cutter's usefull- if you need to use a grinder use masking tape along the cut edge for a cleaner cut.

Seal
Grout
Seal again
Polish by hand with a cloth

Agree with devonchris, The last one I done in a kitchen the couple stored the travertine outside in the rain and then frost, great combination:whatchutalkingabout

use a white flexi rapidset and grout for travertine m8 and seal before and after grouting.
