Hi all I'm new to this site and could do with some advice ,after looking on this site I realized the 600 x400 travertine tiles I got for my bathroom were too heavy for the walls so I'm planning to lay them in my kitchen which is 5x5 meters it is wooden joists with 22 mm moisture resistance chipboard down the floor isn't level so I was thinking of putting 6 mm ply down then a electric ufh mat then a self levelling compound down before tiling does this sound ok???

hello
If your floor have no deflection then instead of ply use 6mm hardibacker, prime the chipboard, glue and screw hardi down, then UFH and then latex, for natural stone with UFH would also recommend decoupling membrane
good luck

Thanks for your advice the floor isn't perfectly level is this what you mean by deflection , because of this would it be better to use levelling compound first then backer board and would ufh mat be able to go directly on backer board then tile?

Deflection' is the measurable distance of sag that a joist will demonstrate under dead and live loading conditions.
good luck ;)
