Trowel size.

As posted elsewhere, I'm about to start some tiling in the bathroom. Tiles are 330x250x8 ceramics onto plasterboard. Going to be using Mapei P9 addy. Just went to get me trowel and discovered that it's a 6mm square notched affair. Would this be suitable for my situation or should I be nipping out and buying a 8mm one? Thanks.

Depends on how flat the wall is id be tempted to go a 10 mm just to make sure back butter to

Walls are pretty flat,all new plasterboard.

rule of thumb. bigger the tile larger the trowel. 10mm will achieve a good coverage.

Just found a trowel in my shed. It has semi-circle notches about 20mm long by 10mm deep. Would this be suitable. Not trying to cut corners, just I've finally got shot of the family and I'm wanting to get started.

sounds like the right trowel to me.

just make sure you take your time setting out, get all your battens on properly. tools ady and tiles ready and go for it. it is all in the prep and setting out

8mm to 10mm would be my choice of weapon..

As above, 8mm min might go up to a 10mm. The half moon trowel will eat LOADS of adhesive. What adhesive are you using, you shouldn't use any bigger than a 6mm trowel if you are using a ready mixed adhesive.
