Anyone use these 'trade rated' websites ?? Would love to hear some thoughts and opinions

waste of time in my opinion, and waste of money. A good reputation is enough. Some others may get loads from them though.

I know a couple of guys that use check a trade, and they can't keep up with the demand! They get great ratings/feedback, and IMHO are DIY at best...

I get the point re 'reputation' being the ideal way, but being in your first year of trading its trying to get the work to get that reputation. I'm sure most of you have been there. My thinking is that with the amount of advertising these sites do, surely a lot of " Joe Publics" must use them ?

Maybe joe public would i don't know. Most people i speak to whether i'm doing a job for them or not prefer to get someone through word of mouth. But give it a try it may work for you.
