That's what I was thinking.

I've always liked the ts30 & after seeing Andys down at Rays place I toyed with buying one for kitchen splashbacks but bought a 2g instead.

I wanted it for the nostalgia value, a bit of rubi history. And I'd quite enjoy refurbishing it, but that's a nutty price, it'll be well over £200 possibly £250 if it needs parts.

Did you see the Felker ts30 on eBay?
That would be a buy if you can get it into the country.

Not seen that, there was a guy selling 2 ts30s, that was a week ago so they've probably gone now.

Just looked at it, probably only be £120 after delivery and taxes. Not bad really.

No, almost always Rubi, a couple of daft impulse buys along the way, was talking to Dave the other day, might pop along and try a big Sigma of his, just to see.

Tried on the small one years ago couldn't get used to the pull and break, it's the new bigger ones with the push and break, especially the new breaker that I like

That's what I use, the max series, push & break, great cutters.

Rubis version is the TX range, to be fair they are very good cutters but the Sigma is a step above.
The Rubi is a lot heavier aswell & you need to find a space for the case.
Sigma is that well made you don't need a case to protect it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in my opinion Rubi's most similar series to Sigma's Max is current TP-S range (TI-S before). They're single rail cutters as well (TX are double rail ones). They look like Max and work like Max, and to be honest I would say Rubi almost copied sigmas. The only important difference is their rails aren't movable vertically. This is also probably first Rubi's range coming without cases (except their TI-S predecessors).

Oh they have most definitely tried to copy Sigma on that range, I haven't used them so I can't comment on their performance.

If it doesn't come to a sentimental value I have no idea why anyone would want to pay such a fortune (39.99 + 9.99) for a well worn, rusty, maybe 25 years old antique if you can get brand new, excellent 7F for 65 quid (or less) with free delivery.
