Tumbled travertine job

Hi ,
Im tiling my bathroom and have bought 600x400 tumbled travertine tiles
its going onto 18mm ply (floor & boxing)
and skimmed plasterboard
do i need to pva the ply as well as the plasterboard?
Also please could you advise what adhesives and grouts i need (im going to buy mapei adhesive & grout but i dont know which type?)
any help greatly appreciated.

The maximum weight of tiling which can be supported by a dry, well-adhered plaster background is 20kg/m². This is equivalent to ceramic tiles with a maximum thickness of 8mm plus tile adhesive or natural stone tiles with a maximum thickness of 7mm plus tile adhesive. Your tiles will weigh too much for skimmed plaster.

As per Enduro, you have weight issues with that substrate.
I do not fix natural stone wall tiles to anything other than tile backer boards that are rated to hold in excess of 40kg/sqm.

In addition, please don't use PVA on anything. Check the adhesive that you intend to use for the floor tiling and if it recommends priming onto plywood then use a suitable acrylic SBR primer.

Please also remember when tiling with natural stone use dark adhesive for a darker colour tile and white adhesive for a lighter colour tile. This is because the tiles are aborbant. They also need to be sealed. As said before with the weight. This really needs to be addressed. It's not worth potentially killing someone over!

The ply needs priming on the underside and the edges as well and I'd install a decoupling membrane. Ditra mat or Dural
