twitter? does anybody use it for business?

ive just joined twitter recently after a conversation i had with a close friend of mine who is a director of a large pr and marketing company where ilive, and he was saying that twitter is an excellent way to network with business' to keep your name about and possibly pick up potenial cilents without even trying...so i said would this work with tiling....and he said maybe as most hotels bars construction companys etc use it and you never know who you might get connected with...i thought i'd give it go.
Anyone else see it like this?

A couple are. It's still pretty new to be honest. Worth getting your twitter name before it gets taken if nothing else.

I've been on Twitter for around 4 months now and i'd say that for the effort it takes it's definately worth joining...Several reasons...A. It's very easy to load with lots of content via photo's straight off your phone with ' TWEETIE' for the iphone...B. Following the bigger tile or addy manufacturers can gain you e vouchers which are sent to you via promo codes.. C. You can gain extra visits to your website as it's all linkable, even design your Twitter home page the same as your website..
For me, its got me in touch with an hi spec interior design company which I dont think I would have made contact with without Twitter, gaining me some nice work..
So my overall thoughts are that - it's free, it takes minimal effort and could just get you that extra 1 or 2 more contacts that you did'nt have before....
