and with the hike in postal charges, and the ever increasing move towards tech stuff i was thinking of switching to an E -SHOT, any advice or tips from you guys on format,presentation,way's of doing this would mean a lot to me as i'am an old -boy,with not to much computer skills

I think you can buy software for this mate. Microsoft publisher or works has templates too I think

where would you start , obviously you need to compile a mailing list ,then think about what you want to send out ( i was thinking of a finishing news magazine ) with links sort of self promotion ? :smilewinkgrin:

Yes, I think that would be a good and subtle way!

I would probably keep them up to date of any exiting projects you have been working on recently too.

I think it is a legal requirement.

The Marketing Association have guildines to keep on the right side of the law when you are doing these things though.

You can try to temp them not to click on these links by offering something that is valuable to them.

Probably access to things they may normally have to pay for or demonstations/ advice etc.

I think with a niche trade like like yours you would probably be best aiming at high end builders/ developer and architects (I dont know your business better than you mate just taking a guess that there are your main clients)

I think access to pre recorded webinars/ presentations with information on products or specifying etc would be a topic of interest. If you give them log in details it would make them feel like they have a privaledge that not many others have. You could use youtube for example to do this.

Yes. the tiling website is proving to be a nightmare. This was my first website I did back in 2007 or 2008 I think and I designed it vie Microsoft officelive. They closed my account recently and I cant get hold of anyone to reactivate it. I will need to look at getting my domain name used on a new website.

I would do a mail shot, then you know the right person reads it if you know there name then you can address it them. An E shot could go to spam or not get to the right person in the company.

Direct mail (postal and email) works either way I think but email can be more cost effective and less time consuming.

There will always be a fair amount of uread content getting binned etc, thats part of the process with this type of marketing. I think Its all down to the content and as you mentioned, directing it to the right people.
