How much would you expect a sparky to charge to fit 2 UFH matting kits into 2 seperate rooms? The rooms are next door to each other and currently have UFH down which is being replaced. So Im assuming, maybe wrongly, it will be a straight forward switch.

One kit is 1m2 and the other 1.5m2.

Or is it ok to lay matting down myself, sparky in to test, then back to hook up once Im out of there?

If so, How much would you expect to be charged just for test and final hook up? And what would you add on to your labour for laying the matting?

All prep work regarding the sub is already factored into original price.

I lay all my own mats, then the spark just connects..

I would lay matting myself, just check the resistance through the wires is ok before/during and after istallation.You need a part P qualified sparky to hook it all up, i'm guessing they would work on a day rate, thats what my sparky does. I always get the sparky in before to look at the job so i know where to run the wires for him.

i lay the cable/mats myself and the customer gets the spark to connect up, it may be a spark i recommend but the customer pays him so no comeback to me.

Same as Dave for me, lay the mats myself and get the connection done by the electricity man.

Lay my own too, but I make sure I use a cable alarm so I know if I damage the mat, then sparky makes connection..,,

these are the answers I was looking for fella's! Thanks a lot. Was hoping to do it myself, just a little inexperienced as Ive mostly had it lucky and have ufh jobs prepped for me ! lol!

So how much extra to lay matting then.?
