Got a minor operation tomorrow at hospital to remove an abscess above an upper front tooth, the size of a pea.............I don't like hospitals

Ooh, not nice, but very good to catch it while it's still the size of a pea... much safer and more manageable, they hurt these things, don't they... you'll be fine again soon, think of something nice and the fact that you are being helped...

MG, I only went to the dentist as the false tooth came out and the dentist wanted to x-ray as she had felt some thing.........she's a good lady IMO.BIG but good.........:lol:

Well, that went well, but its really throbbing now, need more pain killers............

Yes, everything is really sensitive after any surgery, however small, but it will pass, and if you rinse your mouth with warm salt water (two teaspoons to a glass of boiled water, then cooled down to body temperature) with warm, not hot chamomile tea you'll find it really soothing.... and it will speed up healing..

I know the NHS gets a beating in the press, but I turned up on time, waited 20 minutes and was then seen. It only took an hour under local, that was the most painful bit. He talked me though every stage, told me when he had found the abscess, had to grind away the top of the root, plugged it then 6 stitches.

A good service this time...........

Update..............couldn't sleep, and looks like I've been hit by Mike Tyson...........

At least you won't have been in long enough to worry about bed sores, where the nurse comes round with the rubbing alcohol. However a friend of mine reckoned it wasn't to bad if you drank the alcohol and rubbed the nurse.

that is the same thing I said three years ago after the ear-nose-throat surgeon operated on my nose. :mad2: But after a week, thing were better and then I could breathe properly for the first time in years!
