UNI-Bond Rapid Set{Homebase}

Hi, customer has asked if they could use uni bond rapid set+ ceramic and natural stone floor adhesive 2 from homebase? Can it be used straight from tub or does it need to be mixed i have advised against this just want your thoughts.

Wouldn't touch it myself. Laid my kitchen floor before I became a "trained professional" using Unibond stuff. Started to crack after a month or two and when I came to re-do it (3 years later), post training, I litterally swept the adhesive off the floor!

Not good stuff!

Cheers i have told customer to wait as i am waiting on a new adhesive mixer and can get adhesive etc cheaper but customer wants it done now:ninja:

Believe me mark as soon as a crack show's he'll be on that phone giving you an earfull, Stick to your gun's and use what you know is right, I would,nt give it house room.

Tell them straight that the stuff isn't great and what the consequences could be.....

If they insist then get them to sign something saying that if it goes wrong you ain't liable!

hi Mark all you need to say is i can only accept responsibility if i supply the adhesive also why are you and the customer waiting for a mixer are you making cakes ? :lol:

gaz i can mix a bucket of adhesive with a piece of 2x1 quicker than a mixer want a challenge :lol:
