using ardex 7001

im trying ardex 7001 for the 1st time , any advice ? its a bathroom floor , ive boarded it out with ply , should i use a primer ? its ceramic tiles , i usually use bal acrylic primer apd but thats for plasterboard and cement .
the ardex bag recommends ardex p51 primer but my supplier doesnt have it , anything else similar i could use ?

Yes you will need to prime your boards. P51 is what your should use but I imagine that BAL Bond SBR will do fine as it is used for very similar things in addition to priming, using in a slurry coat for instance.

Make sure when you mix it, it is quite a thin mix, this helps to give a solid bed fixing without back buttering. Need to work quite quick as it is a rapid set though should have a bucket life of about an hour.

Ardex prefer that you use their system of p51 , if its primed with another product and it fails then it wil be down to the fixer.
