Using backerboard/plyboard

Hi guys

Still trying to learn this trade,done a couple of quotes for floors and explained to customer that they will require b/board or plyboard,then the husband chips in and says do you really need it?I then try and explain why and what for.

Jst wondering how you guys deal with that?

you can tell them that without it there is a likely disaster waiting to happen,then can pay twice as much for 2 part flex onto wood if they dont want thickness of boards.....Gaz

i had one similar!
they had tiles put down b4 on 2mm ply! they couldn't quite work out WHY she put her STILLETTOE heel through the centre of one of the tiles!
i said to both of them i will do it their way IF they're happy to have the same thing happen again! still waiting for the phone call ...:mad2:
