Van and Tool Insurance

just renewing my public liability insurance and wanting to combine it with tool insurance cover - had a few quotes back and just wondering if anyone had heard of or had cover from glemhams or finsbury, or knew what they where like to deal with as an insurance company - all comments welcome

faithealer,problem i`ve got mate is because its plumbing with blow torches and then tools,then theres tiling insurance and all my tools,so got to get insurance company that will do all.some do and want stupid money and others dont and still want stupid money.but i`ll give them a try mate thanks.

try go compare or money supermarket mate,you put in what you need and they'll give you tons of quotes to compare whats best for you

Failing the sponsers, try Direct Line, but PHONE THEM UP, don't go on line.

I went online and almost accepted their on line quote, but had to phone them up. I am a general handyman including plumbing tiling etc and the lady more than halved my PL and tool cover insurance.

The only drawback is that currently there is no cover for tools stolen at night from the vehicle, they were trying to organise that, but a sturdy lock on the van will hopefully persuade the druggies to move onto an easier target.

Thats a good idea, saved a fortune on my car insurance on one of those comparison sites

tried money supermarket.com and a company by the name of simply business called saying about these two insurers in question mate.

I do the plumbing bit too, round about the 400 mark I think

You should register with quidco, just done my van insurance through them getting a good deal and £40 back, liability insurance will be next month

Faithealer those in question have said £354 all in thats with 2 million liability and 5 grand tools,BUT and there is always one,i`ve got to get my 07 van with its factory alarm and imobiliser and change to a thatcham cat 1 alarm and imobiliser costing £400 :dizzy2:

I've got my liabilty with Simply Business, no issues last year so I renewed with them for this year as they were the cheapest I could find.

My tools insurance is with Norwich Union as they will cover my tools in van overnight, without a Thatcham Cat1.
