Van Lease

Thinking of changing my van.
I bought my van outright so i dont owe anything on it
Whats the pros & cons on a van lease?
Got an offer sitting on a van, its on a Contract Hire with road tax paid for duration, ie 3 years.
Vauxhall Vivaro Sportive lwb, 1st payment £888.00, then just under £300 per month for 3 years.

Anyone leased & know of a better deal or a better way 2 finance a van?

I have a trafic, I put 5k down and took a 5 year HP.
I have 7 payments left to go at 190 then it's mine.
Only 52,000 miles on too.
I'd rather do this than lease because your paying it off for yourself.
Mine would still be worth good money I think.

hi robson,

dose the deal include all servicing, and any repaires that may be needed...

we used to lease all our vans, most we had was four on the road, they were a fixed fee paid each month, all servicing, and any repaires were included, all we did was put fuel in them, if you want trouble free motoring then its a good idea, down side is you have nowt to show for your money at the end of the day, most people i know that leese know they can afford x amount each month write some of it off to tax man, and enjoy hassle free motoring, then when the leese is up just start again..

Andy, its only the road tax with the deal, the maintenance plan is extra, not sure how much though.
This deal was on Contract Hire, doesnt go against your credit rating but you can claim it all through the business.

H/H, im going into the local vauxhall dealer as they have 4year 0% apr at present. want to see what kind of deal they will offer me on finance.
My van is an 08 primastar so i can at least trade this in against a new van, dont really want to buy a brand new van though as the depreciation is horrendous as soon as you leave the premises.
What year is your van an 07? it is a Trafic Sport i want if i can get 1.

Hi Robson, my van is '07.
I'm looking forward to July when it's fully mine.
The way i looked at mine was- if i can tile 4yd2 a week towards my van i was happy.
It has worked well so far.
I would love to buy a smaller van too again though as i'm sick of pallets being set into mine.

Thats a good idea about your 4yds, if i worked it that way then i could easily afford another van.

My work mate pays me £40 a week for the running of the van anyway so i wouldnt have too put much to it to afford finance.

I need to get down to the local dealer & find out what kind of deal they can offer me.

theres alsorts of deals yu can get with leasing,options to buy after so many years ,if you only do a certain amount of milage,ect ,
some i know are buying as the apr is nothing as main dealers cant sell new vans,
pro and cons to both

It's a real good time to buy a new van as rates are so low plus nothing shifting etc.
Transporters still hold great money too.

Paul is that 253000 or 25300 miles,

I take it its meant to be 25300 miles, would be some van if it had done a quarter million miles. :lol:
