Not sure if you guys/gals are aware of this, but I wasnt until today. Amongst other things, if you go to a job where your customers have just bought a new build house or a self build, they , amongst other things, can claim VAT back up to 3 months after the house is built on the tiles they use/get fitted.
Might be a nice little bit of customer service to pass on to your customers if you ever get a job in that situation.

Section 10
Is your claim for the fit out and finish of a building shell. If you have purchased your building from a developer as a shell, or had the shell built for you, you can claim back the VAT on the fitting out costs.
Section 3 (Page 11)
Goods you can claim for...
Building materials that make up the fabric of the property, e.g. Bricks, cement, tiles, timber etc
Just thought I'd pass this on, as I say I'm a happy chappy as I only found out about this myself and I qualify.
