Each member is assigned a usernumber, if you search the members like this you can see the first registered users.....
Mine is
Code:
www.tilersforums.com/member.php?u=1
You can also do this with topics.... so the first topic (if it still exists) would be
Code:
www.tilersforums.com/showthread.php?p=1
I'm always member number one when I install a forum as it needs an admin account to complete the installation. Though Dave Neave was the 2nd I think on here, and on the pink tile forum when I owned that. I was also member number one on the uktilers forum as I installed that too.
As this forum was the third UK one, but first independent one, it took off better than all the others and has carried on growing quickly ever since.
As I optimise them well, we rank #1 for everything we need to and did do right from the start. So natually we got (and still get) nearly all of our traffic from those searching Google and Yahoo. (Google being 85% of our search engine traffic, and yahoo, bing and all others being the 15% of SE traffic).
Creating topics to start off with was easy on this forum but hard on the other trades. Only due to the fact that I knew what to ask tile-wise but I wouldn't have and still don't have a clue electrical-wise, I managed okay plumbing wise but I had to wait untill lots of regulars could help with suggesting forum categories and whatnot.
In 2007 we had a compeition (our first) where members had to find the first day tilersforums was online so that we could have a birthday party The winner (I forget who it was) did it by searching through threads I started (you can do that by going to my profile and clicking the 'stats' tab and then click "find threads STARTED by this user) then click the last page out of the list, then find the bottom post, and that's the one!
