Victorian tiling

Hi guys new to the forum and am in need of some advice. Got my first victorian tiling job in a few weeks customer is fine for me to do job without giving him a quote as have done lots of work for him in the past but am not sure how to price it, day rate or by the meter.

Floor is bout 9sqm in total 100mmx100mm tiles plus boarder plus external tile to cut into walls.

Floor is 9mm wpb. Have a rough figure in mind inc materials £*** inc materials going on basis of 3 to 4 days.

Also an idea on setting out aswell whats best ect.

my first bit of advice would be to take up the 9mm wbp and replace it with hardibacker 250. Personally I'd do it on day rate

Same as Doug for me. Victorian geometrics can be very fiddly and you need to look at the plan every 2 minutes to check you haven't gone wrong! a laser helps a lot with these, the grout lines can get a bit wavey if your not carefull

wouldnt hurt to try and do a course before hand, it'll teach you how to layout and measure out the pattern, its not as easy as it looks. Dont use a rapid set, and as has already been mentioned you really have to watch the lines as its very easy to drift off. Some guys use battens, some use lasers. Its mentally tiring, but very satisfying to do. Dont rush it.
