Just finished a customers bathroom today and started on their WC next door.

Mega pricey kit with some of the tiles worth £157/m2 and that's with 25% discount!
Suite just as pricey and tiling with 60x60s over a £1200 bath was scarey Mary.

Went to view this job in summer last year when I regrouted their kitchen floor. Girl Racer Red put them onto me when the customer joined the forum asking for advice of a leaking wetroom. Went there armed with my silicone (ever the optimist) to discover a decent looking bathroom at first glance but a total and utter botch job after 10 mins digging. Garage below bathroom so easy access.
The little wetroom area was built where there was once a cupboard (pitched roof jobby) Went into garage where it leaked and could see daylight! The wetroom floor consisted of 12mm MDF and you could see the tiles were 15mm proud of the wall with 4 blobs of ready mix - still soft.

Showed customer an area above bath where 4 tiles were barely clinging to the wall by the cracked grout and taped them up as they have 2 small kids. Advised that it was a full rip out and redo if they wanted their dream bathroom which they totally agreed with. Advised them to never use the shower wetroom bit as they could end up in the garage below.

Rip out and first fix went to plan. Having said that the lady of the house could not decide the exact height of the basin so agreed to retro-fit once tiling was done (I've got a rotozip!)

Had to board the entire room out in Aquapanel due the weight of the beasts I was putting up. One wall was stud so no probs but the rest were solid. Quick call to Aquapanel and they said that if solid you can screw and plug - good job as the bath was tight anyway so no room to stud out.

So with bath in place it was time to start tiling:

Was setting out the basin area and I happened to ask the width of the floating shelf.
Standard is 1000mm but they had measured before the rip out and asked for 800mm bespoke. Now the dimensions have obviously changed with the new tiles and boarding out so it meant a 6mm cement board to pack the shower area out. The idea is to have the basin shelf to finish exactly wherte the trim starts.
