Wall Prep.

Hello,

Having scraped the existing adhesive from my plasterboard & concrete walls do I need to do prep work prior to tiling
such as score the walls or apply any primer ??

Bit of a mixed view here Bert.
What adhesive are you using on these walls? Make sure there is no paint.
Some guys p
won't prime on plasterboard some do. I get a plant sprayer and spray a little primer on plasterboard (not too wet), not as much as plaster, and i also prime concrete and render, you technically don't have too, but i like how it makes the adhesive work.
No need to score.

What are the tiles that are being fixed?

They are 300 X 400. 8mm thick. I was advised to use P9.

Also while scraping the plasterboard a single layer of top paper has lifted in some areas. The original plasterboard surface was tanned not the standard grey on modern sheets.

I feel most people will say replace it but it is minimal damage.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Replace damaged plasterboards offers the best longevity.But personally if I could not replace the plasterboards I would just remove all paint, prime all dusty areas and plaster with good Rapidsetting tile adhesive(mapei for EG)Let it dry then fix tiles( waterproofing areas exposed to water first)
