Please don't throw tomatoes or other rotten fruit or veg... but what might the eventual consequences be if one puts wall tiles on the floor???

Ceramic tiles, 30 x 60, same thickness as floor tile, normal finish, not smooth, not rough.

I spent so long trawling round looking for something that I liked, that in the end I purchased in a daze and did not realise that they were wall (as opposed to wall and floor) until I had finished the floor. Argh.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Re: Wall Tiles of Floor

You will in all probability end up with crack and damaged tiles. Wall tiles are not designed and manufactured to accept the stresses that floor tiles are, they are generally much "softer" in construction.

It is ok to use floor tiles on walls, usually, but not the other way around. Sorry.

Re: Wall Tiles of Floor

Thanks all.
I had a look on the website of the store we purchased them from and it does say wall and floor tile but on the box it says wall tile.

It's in the bathroom, so I think we might get away with it for now. And deal with it when the problems arise..... :(

Thanks again.

was it a proper tile shop you went too

if they have it listed as a wall and floor tile it then it should be ok.

check with them

popped into local branch of wicks yesterday...just giving you tilers a bit of a heads up as they are now selling (and advertising on tv) a new selection of tiles (travertine effect tiles from wicks...its got out name on iT ect)...my point...they are selling the 400x300 as a wall &floor but in a brouchure i have from Johnsons (elegance) collection it clearly states the 300x400 is WALL ONLY..be carefull.
