Before I start a job I always ask the client where I can tip dirty water. They usually direct me to a forgotten flowerbed in the corner of the garden somewhere.

The job I'm coming to the end of did have several tonnes of rubble that I just threw it over, but recently I've been directed to a flower bed full of weeds. I think the customer's hoping I'll kill them off for him.

As for recycling water, if I can't get rid of it easily that is an option. When I was renovating a house a few years ago I had a cement mixer in the front room next to a wheelbarrow to mix mortar for rendering. As it was a pain to get rid of the water I would wash the mixer out at the end of the day and tip the dirty water into the barrow.

The following day I would reuse the water for my first mix. The sludge in the bottom usually consisted of very wet sand, so in it went as well.
