Waterproofing/tanking?

getting closer to the time when I'll be thinking about what to apply to the walls around the shower area before tiling.
What do you guys use, what's better, membranes type of system or paint on type.

I use the liquid paint on ones, much easier to apply than the membranes especially if you aren't used to using them. Plenty to choose from, Weber and Tilemaster are the 2 I use.

I used to think that @Bri but then I started trowelling it on. Quick and a lot less messy!

Ardex does flick a bit when rollering on......next tried troweling it on.

I found troweling was the best way, still seemed to end up with it up my arms, it was like a waxing session at the end of the day! It is a while since I've used it, I've trained myself to be a much cleaner worker these days

I use Mapei Aquadefense paint (roller) on but moving over to Tilemaster at the moment so will give their system a go soon

Ardex for me, troweled on. I always wear gloves as it's a nightmare to get off. It's like being waxed if you let it dry on your skin and try to peel it off!

This is just 24 hours after fixing. Client changed her mind on colour.
It's green plasterboard, Ardex WPC, Tilemaster setaflex and tile hahaha I don't think this is the answer u want
