Discuss Weber failings? in the Canada Tile Advice area at TilersForums.com.

Hi guys

I have arrived onsite this morning to find the floor I screeded yesterday to be wet and putty like...

I finished levelling the floor at 2pm so the floor has had 18 hours to dry,
Never had an issue with weber levelling compounds but this bag (as you all know) should of been hard by 6pm!
Customer couldn't get into bathroom at all unless they jumped over the wet areas to reach the shower!

Things to be ruled out, floor underneath not wet damp or cold cold. Old existing sturdy concrete beneath is dry and primed.

House was warm all night.
No high moisture content in house (no more than normal)

Compound mixed to specification, laid within 15 mins of mixing.

Was left 2-3 mins to release any air from mixing.

Weber state it's not right, and shall be testing the batch number..

Not long ago I had a batch of grout which struggled for 3 days to dry! (Sir Neale)

Picture doesn't give a lot to go on but appears to be drying by tray.

Condensation from the pan and cistern?

Picture : around the pedestal and shower tray was good as gold. As it should of been 3-4 hours after laying.
From the door to pan to 3/4 into room is a different bag which hasn't dried at all as you can see from the colour difference

Possibly a old batch but bought several days ago...
Webers mixing is 5lts per bag..
From memory I thought it was 5.25 ltrs per bag so it doesnt sound like over-watering. Most likely an old bag or poss the bag wasnt sealed properly and the product has deteriorated. Weber packaging is some of the worst, unlike Mapei and BAL.

Bag says on front with instruction of 5ltr/bag
