Hi folks, going to be doing a wet room with a wedi former. the gulley is offset from the centre. If you had a choice would you use mosaics, and if so can you envelope them neatly, or would you go for larger tiles? thanks
Doug

ooh, that offset gulley, could be made BEAUTIFULLY part of a bespoke design....:4:

Are you going to shape the wedi board yourself? have seen pictures, but wouldn't have a clue where to start...

Wedi wetroom trays work well when used with mosaics, customers choice but i prefer the look of mosaics over a enveloped cut tile

The wedi board you are thinking of is called Fundo which is premade, Pro4ma also do one pre-made its the one Leatherface has used but they cost a fortune. The walls are easily done with jumbo stud.

If you want any shape from a circle to hexagon then the Tilux wet room former is the best option costs very little compared to the others and can be cut easily.

Have never used the Tilux wet room tray but have used the wedi many times with no problems

As for cost i found CTD supply the wedi trays at a substantial amount less than you quoted me for the equivilent Tilux

You may argue that the Tilux does not need underboarding, but how many times have you fitted a wet room tray that sits perfectly on a joist with no need for underboarding!

You cant compare Tilux with Wedi the Tilux is more advanced and an easier install.......

Can't argue with you as I don't have a quote for a Simon Hopper and your not an arms member sorry.......

Well all the time really .........all our trays save the Impey can simply be shimmed up on joists if need be as they are strong enough to not need full under boarded support where you have to batten and be cutting drain holes.
