wedi thickness

hi all,what thickness of wedi would you reccomend to fix mosaics to in a steam rooom walls

block walls so going to dot and ab the wei and also scrw it to straighten the alls as well

is 10mm sufficient or should i go for 20mm wedi
ta in advance

there is a curved stud ceiling so will i need 20mm for that to cut throught he board to form my shape or do you suggest thicker i thought 20mm would be ok for this

10mm will be fine but i would use a 12mm notch not D&D.

was going to dot and dab it as 2 walls are off

if you D&D make sure you put plenty of dabs so the board is solid. D&D is ok but if you can do it with a notch.

if you are fixing the wedi boards to a block wall, then the chances of the wall be true are, well, unlikely lol

you are right, you need 20mm wedi board fixed using the 'dab & dowel' method....
dabs of spf, fixed at 5 per m2 for ceramic tiles or 8 per m2 for stone tiles
allow to fully dry then mechanically fix using wedi fixings

I have an unusual approch to Wedi, Aqua Panel onto block walls, or even stone walls.

If space permits I use 25mm thick battens fixed top and bottom. I make sure they are straight, vertical and in line.

Strength is provided by foaming behind the battens. The whole lot is rock solid.

dot and dab as per wedi guidelines use dowels, spankers or washers.

new marmox is now smooth faced and better for mosiacs than wedi

for curves i would use the pre scored wedi but you can cut it yourself (pre scored is 30mm)

i tend to use 20mm on walls for d and d or 10mm for trowel bedding overlays
