Wedi tile backer or marmox boards

Looking for recommendations really......
which is best and also ....
where is the cheapest place to buy them from ?

There the same thing, just different brand names, there are others aswell, Uheat sell afew different makes.

Personally I use Wedi, because thats what they stock at CTD which is my supplier, although I've used another make that i cant for the life of me remember the name of.

Price depends on where you buy from, which brand and what size, I pay around £17 for a 2500 x 600 x 10 board which i use for bath panels

Have used both and if i had a choice i would use WEDI, but there are better altenatives

Save your money and use either plasterboard and tank with membrane or use hardi

My only concern is that the reason I am having to re-tile is because water ruined the old plasterboard. I intend on tanking, but was worried that hardibacker is not waterproof like marmox or wedi is?

Its not waterproof but is water resistant, water can soak through it in the event of leakage, but wont cause it to break down and rot like plasterboard does.

Alot of stockists of hardibacker have a piece encased in a plastic box full of water to demonstrate that it doesnt rot or breakdown.

For walls id go with hardibacker.

Doing some quick math here, and converting to $US and in Imperial dimensions....you guys are getting good pricing on Wedi.
