Were not ready for you!!!!!!!

Ok I was supposed to have started a big stone job middle off december and I got told they were not ready for me when I was supposed to start, I was a bit annoyed as i had turned other work away as you do!
Then I was told that they would be ready on the 27/12/2010 so i pulled in a couple of small jobs to tide me over.
went to start and guess what they still weren't ready :mad2: managed to pull in a few more little jobs as they told me they would defo be ready for today! 10/01/2011.
Turned up today walked into the property to be met by the interior designer and he places a paint brush in my hand! I replies im the tiler not the painter, to which he replies.
IM STILL NOT READY FOR YOU:mad2: Im sorry for messing you around and I can go painting for a week until they are ready.
So I stay on painting as i havent got another job to pull in for a week. But the uderlying problem is that it pushes the other jobs further away from there start dates.

This sort of thing really frustrates me however, at least you still have the job. Some people (not many though) seem to find it accepable to cancel the day before or even on the morning the job is supposed to start. We should be able to charge for stuff like this but it would probably damage reputations.

I would try and get any other jobs you may have booked in and try to get started on them early. I would let the interior designer wait untill my next free slot.

I hope they realise that you may have missed out on a few days or earning!
